The Legacy Brain Foundation is looking forward to celebrating our event at the beautiful Hotel InterContinental - an icon of modern elegance and centrally located in the heart of the Dallas metroplex.
In addition, we are very excited to have the esteemed Dr. Ben Williams as our guest speaker for our 2012 Celebration of Life event. A retired Professor of Psychology at the University of California, San Diego AND a 17 year GBM survivor; Dr. Williams is the author of numerous articles on brain tumor treatments, including an annual report that compiles emerging treatment options, clinical trial offerings and results. Several additional articles he has written about brain cancer topics can be found on his website, www.virtualtrials.com/williams.cfm. Dr. Williams’ book, Surviving Terminal Cancer, is available on Amazon.com.
The Celebration of Life honors brain cancer survivors and supporters and awards will be presented to survivors, including special awards for five year, ten year, and twenty year survivors.
Also, the 2012 Jeannie Murphy Sprit Award will be presented to a very special person that shows extraordinary and unique courage, resourcefulness or ingenuity in battling cancer, or a person who makes an extraordinary effort to help fulfill the goals of the Legacy Brain Foundation. Our mission is to support brain and spinal cord tumor patients through public awareness, education, and financial assistance; creating a better quality of life for patients and their families.
Our goal is to extend hope to all brain and spinal cord tumor patients and assist those with financial needs, until a cure can be found for theses devastating diseases.
Applications for both the grant and scholarship programs are available on our website.
